Choose dog hiking equipment for fit and control. Confirm destination access before buying kit for a trip with your dog.
Test the essentials
Start with suitable identification, a secure harness or collar, lead, water bowl and waste bags. Check fit when the dog changes direction or backs up. Carry drinking water for the dog as well as yourself.
Be selective about extras
Boots and dog backpacks help only when appropriate and tolerated. Introduce unfamiliar items at home. Do not load a dog simply to reduce your own pack; discuss load, health and heat concerns with a veterinarian.
Confirm the whole journey
Transport, Morocco entry arrangements, accommodation and trail access need separate checks. A pet-friendly hotel does not establish mountain access. Before contacting Atlas Hikes, prepare details of the dog and proposed trip. Do not assume a standard shared tour accommodates pets.
